Sony Bravia L-Series KDL-26L5000 26-Inch 720p LCD HDTV

If the need is for a second television that can be used in the bedroom etc, or for a TV that can nicely fit in a cabinet of a moderate size in the living room, the twenty six inch LCD from Sony Bravia can be a satisfactory choice. As the size is smaller than most of the LCDs that are sold, it can be considered an entry level model that does not negotiate on the basic functions and also offers a great deal of additional features which most of the users find striking.

To start with, the sharpness of the picture and the sound output are more than adequate for a small TV. The unit is also very light and makes it easy to mount it anywhere the user wants. The device has a lot if input options and hence can be used in various other ways than just watch plain television. It can be used as a monitor for a computer, play station etc. The setup is very easy and has a lot of HDMI connections that can be used. The picture quality is outstanding at 720p and is even better when used to watch blu-ray discs on it. DVDs also appear to be a lot better on it than any of the alternate models. It is also very attractive to look at, as it comes with a black dull finish and not the glossy one which, in fact reflects light and makes it difficult while watching the screen.

The remote control of the TV is very easy to use with various functions and well organized buttons, but the best part is that the same can be used as a universal remote for any other device at home. The clarity and color remains stable over large vertical viewing angles making it convenient when there is a larger audience. Also, there is an option of choosing between viewing the screen as zoom, wide or normal. The image does not become stretched awkwardly when the options are used and makes even the scroll on the bottom of the screen visible with ease. And Sony is a brand name the user cannot ignore when deciding to purchase a piece of technology. Once done, it would never let the user down but in fact make him even happier with the features and the price tag.

There is an efficient tuner in the device but it does not show the strength of the signal when the user is trying to use the device as a portable one and that makes it difficult in positioning the antenna. The screen turns much darker after there’s a dark scene coming on the TV and then turns to normal almost instantly. This can be quite disturbing to the users especially if they are watching in a low light area. There is no Electronic Program Guide, which is again disappointing to a few customers.

It can be best used as a bedroom set due to its size and on the whole, this is a great HD TV for the price, and that too coming from a big brand makes it even better.
