There are various choices of resolution to choose from and the scan time purely depends on the choice. Scanning at 600 dpi is very quick and one does not have to compromise on the file quality to get it sooner. The main advantage with this device is that it does not require any heat up time for the lamp which does the job quicker. Installing the device on any machine is a very easy task and requires no special skill. The basic purpose for which most of the users opt for this device is to digitize prints, slides and negatives, apart from other applications. This particular model has changes with respect to the layout of buttons used to select different modes and also the on/off button when compared to the earlier version, making it more user friendly.
There are not many drawbacks to this device and those present are also user specific. If the user starts scanning several objects continuously, the file names of the scanned files are in a serial order as they are saved. But if the user takes a break by turning the device off and later switches it on continue his work, the file name starts all over again instead of continuing where it stopped. Though this is a very minor issue, it may be of concern to the specific user and no to the whole lot. Also the time taken to scan slides is a bit longer when compared to photos.
