The S620 is a point and shoot camera that has all the attractive features of a nice portable unit with quality functionality that is consistent and reliable. Like most other cameras from Nikon, it has various useful aspects that come in an ergonomic package making it suitable even for important occasions where clarity cannot be compromised. It is an amazing device for an amateur or hobbyist who does not want a moment to go by without having a memory of it when it comes all of a sudden.

The size of the device is very comfortable as it is easy to hold and hence does not strain the palm when pictures have be taken continuously. The start up time of the camera is about four seconds which is quite satisfactory and the shooting of pictures can be done very quickly as the shutter lag time is very less. This takes out any apprehension from the user when taking action shots as the moments pass by very quickly without notice. The auto mode of the camera is suitable for most of the situations and thus does not require the user to be a professional in order to take high quality pictures by adjusting all the available settings. The camera has an automatic lens cover, making it protective without the need of any intervention from the user.

The twelve megapixel works very well in a combination with 4X optical zoom to produce pictures that do not miss even the slightest details. The vibration reduction feature, normally called as auto stabilization works fine in reducing the blur that usually is a result of shaky hands. The picture quality is good even in low light conditions and the wide angle lens makes it easy for the user to shoot without having to step back to take a wider shot. The software that comes with the camera is easy to install and is also very user friendly. The face detection and smile detection feature work as promised and the macro mode seems to work pretty well too capable of shooting objects less than an inch. The ISO can be adjusted automatically leaving the user care free.

The USB cable that is included in the box is not a standard cable and is a troublesome aspect. The LCD screen of the unit seems to be raised when compared to the rest of the surface making it prone to scratches when placed on its back. Though the start up time is pretty good, a few users may find it to be slow.

The camera has a lot to offer and has almost no drawbacks. It can be considered the best point and shoot for the price. This product can be considered if users of 420 EX need an upgrade, as it is quite a dependable product that is known for its accurate functionality. It can be a better flash when compared to the inbuilt ones as it has its own space and is designed to meet the expectations of several canon digital camera users. Hence it is compatible with many cameras and since it is an individual flash unit there is expertise involved in its design as the designers are only concerned about the flash as a whole product. It allows the user of the camera to experiment with lighting and is an excellent learning tool for amateurs.

The auto focus of the camera works excellently in low light conditions when this flash is used as it is capable of producing the flash efficiently that eliminate the drawbacks of the light conditions present in the surroundings. The exposure is perfect when the flash is used with any camera that is compatible with the unit. The recycle time of the flash is also fairly above satisfactory as the images are not blown out like what the user can observe with many in built flash units. The foot of the device is made of metal and is capable of withstanding shocks that that sometimes come unnoticed and hence is strong and durable. There is a lever system of lock on the unit which is considered to be far more advantageous than the screw system of locking the unit.

The flash can be controlled using the camera it is being used with and that is a welcome feature. There is a wide angle diffuser that makes things better while shooting with wide angle lens as the flash covers the entire area being shot instead of leaving dark areas at the sides. Also, the flash has a lot of power, enough to produce high quality and efficiently lit pictures in all kinds of lighting. The size of the flash is another advantage as it is not too large and is comparable to the lens size of most digital cameras and there is a carrying case included in the box of the product too. The pictures taken using this unit seem to be clearly lit with sufficient light without any shadows. The pictures are also not washed out when the object is very near to the camera. This makes it a highly desirable unit when compared to the alternate models.

There are not many complaints of the unit as it is a highly recommended product by almost everyone. A few of the users might have a problem with the white balance when using the flash as it needs to be operated carefully and with expertise to get optimum results. Nikons high quality cameras are always trusted by users for their performance and sustainability. It has many improved features compared to P80, its earlier version. The P90’s zooming capability is one of its important feature as it can be used from wide angle to telephoto. The 3 inch LCD screen is attractive with bright colors and very good sharpness.
